Sunny is a female SandWing-NightWing hybrid[1][2] and one of the Dragonets of Destiny, alongside being the princess of the SandWings. She featured as the main protagonist of The Brightest Night. She is the daughter of Queen Thorn and Stonemover. She currently resides and works at Jade Mountain Academy as staff and is the founder of the school.

Description[edit | edit source]

Sunny is a small dragon[2] that has tawny[3] and unusually bright golden scales[2] like rippled sunshine[4] and lacks a tail barb.[2] She sleeps like a snoozing chinchilla.[5] Her eyes are gray green[2] and her claws are small.[4] According to Darkstalker, she has eyes just like Whiteout's.

  1. The Brightest Night, chapter 13, paragraph 59. ""Yes, Sunny," said Thorn, her voice falling like drops of water into the stillness between them. "It's because you're half NightWing.""
  2. 2.0 2.1 2.2 2.3 2.4 The Dragonet Prophecy, chapter 2, paragraph 14. "Dune, the maimed dragon who taught them survival skills, was a SandWing, and so was Sunny … more or less. There was something not quite right about the littlest dragonet. Not only were her scales too golden, but her eyes were gray-green instead of glittering black. Worst of all, her tail curled into an ordinary point like the tails of most dragon tribes, instead of ending with the poisonous barb that was a SandWing's most dangerous weapon."
  3. The Dragonet Prophecy, chapter 22=, paragraph 12. "Sunny was the wrong color - tawny gold instead of sand pale like most SandWings - but she still gave off warmth like the rest of her tribe."
  4. 4.0 4.1 The Dark Secret, chapter 10. "He closed his eyes and pictured Sunny - her laugh that made everyone else laugh, too, her flares of temper that vanished as quickly as they came, her small claws and fierce protective face, her scales like rippled sunshine, the way she looked like no other dragon on Pyrrhia."
  5. The Hidden Kingdom, chapter 4. "Sunny was curled up in a peaceful ball like a snoozing chinchilla, and Webs, with his shallow breathing, looked and sounded halfway dead."
