The #1 bestselling Wings of Fire series soars underwater, where danger and destiny await the dragonets!

The lost heir to the SeaWing throne is going home at last.

She can't believe it's finally happening: Tsunami and her fellow dragonets of destiny are journeying under the water to the great SeaWing Kingdom. Stolen as an egg from the royal hatchery, Tsunami is eager to meet her future subjects and reunite with her mother, Queen Coral.

But Tsunami's triumphant return doesn't go quite the way she'd imagined. Queen Coral welcomes her with open wings, but a mysterious assassin has been killing off the queen's heirs for years, and Tsunami may be the next target.

The dragonets came to the SeaWings for protection, but this ocean hides secrets, betrayal -- and perhaps even death.

Plot[edit | edit source]

Prologue[edit | edit source]

Webs, one of the guardians of the Dragonets of Destiny, is cornered by his fellow Talons of Peace members. They are coming to him to tell him what happened after the Dragonets of Destiny escaped Queen Scarlet's palace. The Talons hint at a potential alternate set of Dragonets of Destiny, and decide that Webs is a liability that must be killed. Cirrus is the dragon chosen to do this, but Crocodile tackles him, giving Webs a chance to escape and head home to the Kingdom of the Sea to ask for Coral's forgiveness for deserting her.

Part One: The Edge of the Ocean[edit | edit source]

Tsunami and her friends stand on a beach, Starflight fearing they might be seen tries to get everyone to hide but soon they start to complain. Unfortunately, no one listens and Tsunami drums it up to Starflight overreacting, but soon enough they hear wing flaps and Sunny says she smells smoke. Upon seeing a SkyWing patrol, Tsunami dives into the water while the others hide, and a SkyWing solider appears and they attack him, dragging his body away to the ocean. Soon enough they leave, hiding the body, and flying inland much to Tsunamis displeasure.

Four days later, waking up on a island in the Bay of a Thousand Scales, Tsunami jumps into the water, fighting currents to the next island in the chain. Eventually she spots two SeaWings, waiting for the second one to go away she swims up to the first one, she points to the surface of the water, unfortunately the other dragon swims off. Tsunami, after the dragon hit his head on a whale, pins them down and they both flashed there stripes to each other but eventually Tsunami surfaces but the other dragon only follows for a bit, Tsunami intimidates him, flashing her scales again, before the dragon lunges for her. Tsunami attacks him and then fly's back to her friends as the SeaWing follows her and asks what's wrong. Tsunami tells everyone that he attacked her but he denies it and says, she also tells him, "Hey, sparkling teeth, I love three of your claws but not the others, and I wish your nose was a herring so I could eat it, and also your wings sound like sharks snoring." Tsunami laughs when she heres this. He tells her that she should leave because she doesn't know aquatic, and then attacks Clay, thinking he is an enemy as Sunny tries to stop him. Tsunami after reveals to him that they are the Dragonets of Destiny, and the SeaWing says his name is Riptide.

Riptide then asks about Webs and Tsunami tells him a couple of things before he offers to tell Queen Coral about this, to protect the secret location of the Summer Palace. When Tsunami refuses Riptide complains but Tsunami stands strong saying that her and all of her friends were coming with them. Eventually Riptide caves in and blindfolds them with seaweed and the six dragons fly towards the Summer Palace. They meet Tsunami's uncle, Queen Coral's brother and Chief of Defense, Commander Shark. Tsunami, believing he is untrustworthy, is sour to him and Shark orders the execution of Tsunami's friends and too bring her to the queen. Tsunami responds by knocking out a guard and demanding that all five of them will come to the palace. They all swim thought a tunnel, taking air breaks in between due to the air pockets used to transport Blister the the palace.
