Pyrrhia is a continent that serves as the main setting for the first and second arcs, also including the Legends and Winglets series. It is the location of the War of SandWing Succession and the Jade Mountain Prophecy. There are seven dragon tribes that naturally reside on the continent: NightWings, SkyWings, SandWings, RainWings, SeaWings, MudWings and IceWings. The continent is commonly referred to as the Distant Kingdoms by the dragons of Pantala, even long before its existence was ever proven outright in Pantala.

Description[edit | edit source]

Pyrrhia is a large continent, with many expansive and varied biomes and ecosystems, with each tribe typically living in and having their kingdoms within their natural environments and habitats. Its extent is typically not restricted to its landmass and can include the surrounding oceans and islands as well. The continent is similarly shaped to a dragon viewed from the side.

Some geographic regions include the Claws of the Clouds Mountains and the Bay of a Thousand Scales.

Kingdoms[edit | edit source]

There are six different kingdoms on the continent, each being monarchies with their own land and borders, though sometimes these borders may be vague or conflicted.

Sky Kingdom[edit | edit source]

The Sky Kingdom is the home of the SkyWings and is ruled by Queen Ruby.[1] It is located in northern and central Pyrrhia in an area that resembles the "wing" of the continent. The Claws of the Clouds Mountains runs across most of its length, north to south, through the middle of the kingdom. It is bordered by the Kingdom of the Sea to the east, by the Mud Kingdom to the south-east, by the Kingdom of Sand to the west and south-west, and by the Ice Kingdom to the north-west.

Kingdom of Sand[edit | edit source]

The Kingdom of Sand is the home of the SandWings and is ruled by Queen Thorn.[1] It is located in south-western Pyrrhia in an area that resembles the "chest" of the continent. The kingdom is described to be a vast and endless desert.[2][3] It is bordered by the Sky Kingdom to the east and the Ice Kingdom to the north.

Rainforest Kingdom[edit | edit source]

The Rainforest Kingdom is the home of the RainWings and most of the NightWings, it is ruled by Queen Glory.[1] It is located in southern Pyrrhia in an area that resembles the "underbelly" or "hind" of the continent. The kingdom is described to have tall trees, exuberant flowers and to be a muddy quagmire.[4][5] The Mud Kingdom borders it to the north and the Sky Kingdom borders it to the west.

Kingdom of the Sea[edit | edit source]

The Kingdom of the Sea is the home of the SeaWings and is ruled by Queen Coral.[1] It is located in eastern Pyrrhia and mostly made up of vast expanses of ocean and the Bay of a Thousand Scales.[6] It has a string of islands that form from a tapering peninsula in the south-east to make up the spiraled "tail" of the continent. It is bordered to the North by the Sky Kingdom and by the Mud Kingdom to the south and south-west.

Mud Kingdom[edit | edit source]

The Mud Kingdom is the home of the MudWings and is ruled by Queen Moorhen.[1] It is located in eastern and central Pyrrhia and resembles the "back" of the continent. The land is described as having vast, marshy swampland and wide-open grassland.[7][8] The kingdom is bordered by the Sky Kingdom to the north and west, by the Kingdom of the Sea to the north-east and by the Rainforest Kingdom to the south.

Ice Kingdom[edit | edit source]

The Ice Kingdom is the home of the IceWings and is ruled by Queen Snowfall. It is located in north-western Pyrrhia and resembles the "head" of the continent. The land is described as being snowy and being full of polar bears and walruses.[9] It is known for its sub-zero temperatures and freezing wind.[10] The kingdom is bordered by the Kingdom of Sand to the south and the Sky Kingdom to the east.
