Princess Burn was an adult female SandWing and heir to her tribe's throne. After the death of her mother, Queen Oasis, Burn and her two sisters, Blister and Blaze, each allied with other Pyrrhian tribes, starting a war for the crown of the Sand Kingdom. This became known as The War of SandWing Succession. Burn was killed by a dragonbite viper planted by Blister.
Description[edit | edit source]
Burn was much larger than Scarlet, and her talons were twice as large as those of Clay. She had blood-stained claws and teeth and pure black eyes.[1]
The SandWing Succession[edit | edit source]
Of the three sisters, Burn was known for being cruel, aggressive, and ruthless, even her own soldiers. She inhabited the SandWing stronghold and made it her fortress, being located near the middle of the desert.[2] Along with that she allied with Queen Moorhen and the MudWings and Queen Scarlet of the SkyWings.
On the night before the Brightest Night, Burn received a report from Queen Scarlet about an IceWing thief.[3] She and two soldiers found and killed Hvitur[4] and destroyed the SkyWing Dragonet of Destiny egg.[5]
- ↑ The Dragonet Prophecy, chapter 22, paragraph 10. "“Why don’t you kill them?” Burn asked. She was much bigger than Scarlet; her head scraped the top of the tunnel, and her talons were twice the size of Clay’s. She wore no precious jewels or chain mail, but her claws and teeth were stained red from all the blood she had shed, and a vicious scar was burned along her left side, below the wing. There was no white to her eyes at all; they were orbs of pure, menacing black."
- ↑ The Dragonet Prophecy, chapter 21, paragraph 30. "She was the biggest and meanest of the three rivals for the SandWing throne. She held the SandWing palace stronghold. From what Clay could remember, she was the most likely to win the war — and the most likely to kill anyone who got in her way."
- ↑ The Dragonet Prophecy, prologue, paragraph 12. "Her lookouts reported an IceWing thief sneaking away, and I decided finding you might add some violence to my boring visit."
- ↑ The Dragonet Prophecy, prologue, paragraph 28. "With an exaggerated lunge, Burn pretended the wet egg was slipping through her talons ... and then she let it fall over the side of the cliff into the rocky darkness below."
