Luna is a female flamesilk SilkWing dragonet and is the main protagonist of The Flames of Hope. She is the biological daughter of Admiral and Silverspot, the step-daughter of Burnet, and the half-sister of Blue. She is also currently in a long-term relationship with Swordtail.

Appearance[edit | edit source]

Luna’s scales are a pale[1][2], elegant caterpillar green color[3], and are described by Moonwatcher as "sliced gems"[4]. Her back and pale green tail[2] have flecks of gold along them[1], and her four beautiful[5] wings are a pale, pearly green[6], like cascading petals of green sunlight[5]. She also has glowing spots of molten gold beneath her wrists[7], like fireflies[8]. Before her Metamorphosis, when Luna’s wingbuds were unfurling, they had whorls of cobalt and gold inside their pale green exterior[8].

Luna has long, furling antennae[4], and is smaller and lighter than Pineapple[9].

History[edit | edit source]

Pre-Series[edit | edit source]

Luna grew up in the webs of Cicada Hive alongside her mother, Silverspot, step-mother, Burnet, and her half-brother, Blue. She also attended the SilkWing school, Silkworm Hall. When she was 1 year old, she met her now long-time boyfriend, Swordtail.

The Lost Continent[edit | edit source]

Luna first appeared waking Blue up from his sleep, excitedly talking about her metamorphosis, which would happen later that day. The two went out to Cicada Hive, and while they were out, Luna started entering her Metamorphosis trance. The two went to the Cocoon where Luna was supposed to have her Metamorphosis, but she was revealed to be a flamesilk, and taken in her cocoon to the Flamesilk Caverns. When Blue gets brought down to the Flamesilk Caverns under Wasp Hive, he sees Luna’s cocoon, and a few days later, she emerges. The two then escape the cavern with the help of Cricket, Sundew, and Swordtail. Later, Luna and Swordtail go for a fly and end up encountering and fighting a pair HiveWings that want to capture them, and when Luna tries to use her flamesilk to defend her and Swordtail, she ends up loosing control, and gets ballooned up by her silk, causing her to get drifted by the wind eastward and onto the western coast of Pyrrhia.
