Queen Glory is a female RainWing who features as the main protagonist of The Hidden Kingdom and is the queen of the RainWings and NightWings. She was originally introduced in The Dragonet Prophecy as one of the Dragonets of Destiny. She current resides in The Rainforest Kingdom with her partner, Deathbringer.

Description

Glory does not show emotions on her scales often, so she tends to have brilliant dark emerald green scales, that are described by Liana as dull and mousy in comparison to other RainWings. She has green eyes[1] and flares of orange around her feathery ears.[2] She has a long shape[3] and a long tail,[2] soft wings,[3] and a long, delicate snout.[4] She is commonly described as the "pretty one", and is elegant. IM GLORY

History

Glory's egg was stolen from the Rainforest Kingdom by Webs[5] after the SkyWing egg was destroyed by Burn.[6] She was raised by Webs, Kestrel, and Dune in a cave with the other Dragonets of Destiny.

After escaping from the cave, Glory and the other Dragonets of Destiny were captured by Queen Scarlet. [7]Glory is also the Queen of the Rainwings and Nightwings[8]. She replaced Queen Battlewinner of the Nightwings after she died[9][10], Glory challenged the Rainwing queens for the throne and won.[11] Her mother and father is unknown[12] but her brother is Jambu[13] and Grandmother is Former Queen Grandeur of the Rainwings.[14]

  1. The Dragonet Prophecy, chapter 6, paragraph 75. ""All right," said Glory with a sigh. Her green eyes appeared again, halfway across the cave. She was looking straight at Clay. "Do what you want, as long as you're not doing it only for me. I'll stay out of the way until Clay comes back to get us.""
  2. 2.0 2.1 The Dragonet Prophecy, chapter 4, paragraph 14. "Starflight took a step back, and Clay saw Glory. She was sitting on her haunches with her long tail curled over her talons. Trails of violet and gold chased each other through her scales. Only the shades of flame around her feathery ears hinted that she was upset. She stared calmly back at Morrowseer."
  3. 3.0 3.1 The Dragonet Prophecy, chapter 12, paragraph 32. ""Right here," a voice whispered in his ear. Soft wings brushed his, and Glory's long shape shimmered into view. Her scales shifted from gray and black to a warm golden orange flecked with dark blue."
  4. The Dragonet Prophecy, chapter 2, paragraph 30. ""Dear moons, anything but that," Glory said from the ledge above him. "Maybe later, when we're trying to fall asleep." Her long, delicate snout, glowing emerald green with displeasure, rested on her front claws. Ripples of iridescent blue shimmered across her scales, and tonight her tail was a swirl of vibrant purples."
  5. The Hidden Kingdom, chapter 1, paragraph 13. "As the guardian who had stolen her from the RainWing tribe in the first place, Webs should have been a helpful fount of knowledge about where she came from."
  6. The Dragonet Prophecy, prologue, paragraph 27,28. "No ‘wings of sky’ to help save the world,” Burn said. “What a sad, sad story.” She began tossing the egg from one front claw to the other. “I guess that means you should be very, very careful with this terribly important little — oops!" With an exaggerated lunge, Burn pretended the wet egg was slipping through her talons … and then she let it fall over the side of the cliff into the rocky darkness below."
  7. The Dragonet Prophecy, chapter 12, paragraph 50. "Queen Scarlet was standing in the entranceway. Behind her, the tunnel was blocked by a row of SkyWings in different shades of flame — all of them large, all of them breathing small spurts of fire, and all of them angry."

  9. The Dark Secret, chapter 25, paragraph 98. "The NightWing queen’s neck froze solid first, then her chest, her ears, her wings, her snout, all the way out to her claws and her tail. Within moments, the dragon’s entire body was encased in jagged whorls of ice. Her eyes were blue pools of rage. Her mouth froze wide open, as if she’d wanted to end her life with a howl of fury, but it was too late; nothing could come out."
