Tsunami is a female SeaWing princess[1] and one of the Dragonets of Destiny[2]. She is the main protagonist of The Lost Heir. She also co-founded Jade Mountain Academy with the other Dragonets of Destiny and currently works as the headmistress there. She is the eldest living daughter of Queen Coral and King Gill.
She has a strong sense of justice which often makes her come off as insensitive and controlling. Her protective nature comes from her deep care for her family. Tsunami can be hot-headed and impulsive, rushing into situations without always thinking of the consequences. However, she also has a strong moral compass and will go to great lengths to fight for what is right.
Description
Webs identified Tsunami's egg in the SeaWing Royal Hatchery as the one from the prophecy due to its shell being "of deepest blue" and consequently took it.[3]
Tsunami is described as having deep[4] or royal blue[5] scales with "pale green flecks"[6] which shimmer like cobalt glass in torchlight.[7] Gills, located on her long neck, pulse when she is angry[8]. Like all SeaWings, she possesses webbed talons,[9] and luminescent stripes on her tail, snout and underbelly.[10] Her eyes are described as being translucent green.[11]
Personality
Tsunami is determined[12] and cares about protecting friends[13] and family[14]. She can be hot-headed and impulsive. Sometimes she and Glory have an intense rivalry
Life
Tsunami was raised by Dune, Kestrel and Webs in a cave with the other Dragonets of Destiny.
Relationships
Gill
Tsunami was forced to fight Gill, her own father, in Scarlet's arena.[15] She initially didn't want to kill him, and demanded that Scarlet let her, and Gill, live.[16] But Scarlet made fun of her, pushing Tsunami to snap his neck to prove she wasn't scared.[17] She was shaken by this, and when they escaped Scarlet's arena, Tsunami pretended she was fine.[citation needed] After her mother, Queen Coral, told her of Gill being captured by SkyWings, Tsunami realized she had killed her own father.[18] Overcome with guilt, and no way to end it, she concluded that Gill was insane, and she had no choice but to kill him.[19] Still she was left with doubt, and the sense that she hadn't tried to find another way.[20]
