Moonwatcher, preferring the nickname "Moon" is a female NightWing dragonet and the main protagonist of Moon Rising. She currently attends Jade Mountain Academy as a student in the Jade Winglet. She is the first NightWing in centuries to have mind reading and prophecy, as she hatched in the rainforest under two full moons. Moon is the daughter of Secretkeeper and Morrowseer.

Description

Moon has cool,^[1] shiny,^[2] gleaming,^[3] purplish-black scales with green undertones. She has a silver teardrop scale behind each eye, indicating her mind reading ability. Her teardrop scales are bigger and sparklier than Fatespeaker's.^[4] She looks healthier than most of the other NightWings^[3] and has strong muscles.^[1] She also has the foresight ability.

Life

Moon was raised by Secretkeeper in the rainforest, away from the rest of her tribe. She became a student at Jade Mountain Academy after the War of SandWing Succession ended. There she made friends with the dragons in her Winglet such as Qibli, Winter, and Kinkajou. Moon does express romantic feelings for both Qibli and Winter.

In Book 6 Moon Discovered that the legendary Darkstalker was alive and buried under a mountain and awaiting rescue after being trapped 2000 years. Once Darkstalker was set free when Peril burned up the scroll Darkstalker enchanted as a vessel to carry his Animus magic Moon soon realized that Darkstalker still was truly evil and had to be taken down.

Soon after Darkstalker was defeated by Kinkajou turning his animus magic agents himself Moon decided to go find Qibli who had quit Jade Mountain Academy so Winter could have a chance to be with Moon because Moon had decided she wanted to be with Moon. Moon found Qibli repairing Queen thorn’s stronghold and waited in an observatory for Qibli. Qibli tries to convince Moon that Winter deserves her but Moon insisted she Wants to be with Qibli. In the observatory both Moon and Qibli finally confess their love and decide to be together.

The Lost Continent

Once Moon and Qibli decided to be together Moon told Qibli about another prophecy sha had been having recently and they went to a small oasis on the cost of the Sand Kingdom. Ther in a small hut they found the daughter of the legendary SandWing Animus Jeroba, Jerboa. There Jerboa showed them a SilkWing named Luna who had accidentally flown across the sea and crash landed on the beach. She told them of the crisis on the other continent Pantala and was astounded to see Moon, who was the same tribe as Clearsight who evidently after defeating Darkstalker flew to the continent to start a new life.
