Scarlet was the queen of the SkyWings during The War of SandWing Succession. She was the daughter of Firestorm, mother to Ruby, Hawk, Vermilion, and several unnamed SkyWings.[citation needed] She was killed by Queen Ruby at the end of Escaping Peril.[1]
Description
Scarlet has orange scales and has rubies embedded between the scales over her eyes.[2] She is slightly larger than Clay and slightly smaller than Kestrel.[3]
Scarlet was queen for thirty years and defeated fourteen challengers.[4] Before her death, she had not been challenged for about eight or nine years.[5] She enjoyed dramatic entertainment like arena battles and trials, the latter of which she thought made her seem like a fair and just ruler.[5][6]
Life
When Clay and Tsunami escaped their cave under the mountain, Scarlet found them after pursuing a human that had taken her treasure.[7][8] After Tsunami attacked her,[9] she followed the smoke signal made by Sunny, Starflight, and Glory and captured the Dragonets of Destiny.[10][11] She also captured Kestrel and killed Dune.[12]
During Kestrel's trial, Scarlet killed Osprey after Peril revealed she knew of the Champion's Shield.[13] During the battle, she was sprayed on the side of her face venom from Glory, who was in a marble tree next to Scarlet.[14]
