An Image of a HiveWing

HiveWings are a Pantalan tribe, one of the three that live on the continent. The HiveWings used to rule over the SilkWings, enslaving them as servants[citation needed], and almost killing off the LeafWings to extinction.[citation needed] Their ruler used to be Ex-Queen Wasp[citation needed], before the events of The Flames of Hope happened, and now the HiveWings are ruled by Queen Jewel[citation needed]. HiveWings are descended from BeetleWings and Clearsight, the ancestor of all HiveWings.[citation needed]

Appearance

HiveWings, as their name may imply, appear bee or wasp-like. They have slim figures and four wings that resemble dragonfly wings, contrary to their Pyrrhian counterparts.[citation needed]

HiveWings can have the following scale colors: red, yellow, orange, brown, and always a littering of black scales. (From their NightWing ancestor, Clearsight.)[citation needed] Their eyes can be any of their scale color, including amber and green. However, when they are being mind controlled, their eyes will turn white, and they will become unresponsive.[citation needed]

HiveWings have three horns on their head. Two that all tribes have at the back of their head, one on their forehead, and one on the tip of their snout.[citation needed] Their tongues are blackish-purple.[citation needed]

Abilities

Most HiveWings do not have abilities,[citation needed] but the few who do can vary. The abilities are genetic, and thus are can be passed down.[citation needed] This is mentioned in The Hive Queen when it's described that Katydid and Cricket did not inherit Cadelle's venomous fangs. The abilities include toxic stingers extending from wrists or claws,[citation needed] venomous teeth/fangs,[citation needed] paralyzing toxin (known as nerve poison) which immobilizes targets,[citation needed] spraying boiling acid from tail stingers,[citation needed] and emitting a terrible stench.[citation needed]

Thanks to the Breath of Evil, Ex-Queen Wasp was able to mind control HiveWings she'd injected the Breath of Evil into.[citation needed] When being controlled by Wasp, the HiveWings eyes would go white and move in unison, taking on an eerie tone to their voice.[citation needed]

Names

HiveWings are named after insects, which include ants, bees, beetles, crickets, mantids, wasps, weevils, and possibly even spiders.
