The Scorching was a major event that occurred approximately 5,012 years before the present day, marking the rise of dragons as the dominant species on Pyrrhia. It first started when Cottonmouth stole a dragon egg which provoked a retaliation from the dragons, followed by the tribal shifts, alignments, and 500 years of constant warfare in Pyrrhia.[1] Most of the pre-Scorching stories are described as legends or fairy tales by most dragons.[2]
