Tsunami is a female SeaWing princess and the main protagonist of The Lost Heir. She was the SeaWing Dragonet of Destiny, and has also co-founded Jade Mountain Academy with the other Dragonets of Destiny and now currently works as the headmistress there. She is the eldest daughter of Queen Coral and King Gill.

Relationships

Gill

Tsunami was forced to fight Gill, her own father, in Scarlet's arena.[1] She initially didn't want to kill him, and demanded that Scarlet let her, and Gill, live.[2] But Scarlet made fun of her, pushing Tsunami to snap his neck to prove she wasn't scared.[3] She was shaken by this, and when they escaped Scarlet's arena, Tsunami pretended she was fine.[citation needed] After her mother, Queen Coral, told her of Gill being captured by SeaWings, Tsunami realized she had killed her own father.[4] Overcome with guilt, and no way to end it, she concluded that Gill was insane, and she had no choice but to kill him.[5] Still she was left with doubt, and the sense that she hadn't tried to find another way.[6]

  1. The Dragonet Prophecy, chapter 25, paragraph 42. "Dehydrated, mentally unstable, and ready to fight at last. It's Gill of the Seawings! [sic] ..."
  2. The Dragonet Prophecy, chapter 25, paragraph 52. "I've won," Tsunami shouted. "You can all see that. We can end this now, without killing anyone. I ask you all to let me let him live!"
  3. The Dragonet Prophecy, chapter 25, paragraph 58. "Perhaps our 'dragonet of destiny' doesn't have the stomach for battle," Queen Scarlet called snidely. "Maybe war is too scary for her. Perhaps she'd like to go back into hiding instead?"
  4. The Lost Heir, chapter 12, paragraphs 5–8. Tsunami felt like oceans were pressing against the back of her eyes. Her scales were heavy, as if they were clogged with seaweed. But I didn't have a choice. Did I? He was my father. And I had no idea.
  5. The Lost Heir, chapter 12, paragraph 9. But he wasn't a real dragon anymore. He wasn't anyone, inside his parched scales. He was gone, and I had to survive. I had to survive to protect my friends and fulfill my destiny.
  6. The Lost Heir, chapter 12, paragraph 10. Nothing helped. She hadn't really thought about other options when she'd killed the SeaWing in the arena. It was impulse and wanting to prove something to Scarlet.
