HiveWings are a Pantalan tribe, one of the three that live on the continent. The HiveWings used to rule over the SilkWings, enslaving them as servants, and almost killing off the LeafWings to extinction. The ruler used to be Queen Wasp, before the events of The Flames of Hope happened, and now the HiveWings are ruled by Queen Jewel. HiveWings are descended from BeetleWings, as Clearsight is an ancestor of all HiveWings.

Appearance

HiveWings, as their name may imply, appear bee-like. They have slim figures and four wings that resemble dragonfly wings, contrary to their Pyrrhian counterparts.

HiveWings can have the following scale colors: red, yellow, orange, brown, and always a littering of black scales. (From their NightWing descendant, Clearsight.) Their eyes can be any of their scale color, including amber and green. However, when they are being mind controlled, their eyes will turn white, and they will become unresponsive.

They have three horns on their head, the two that all tribes have at the back of their head, and one on their forehead. Their tongues are blackish-purple.

Abilities

Most HiveWings do not have abilities, but the few who do can vary. The abilities are genetic, and thus are can be passed down. This is mentioned in The Hive Queen when it's described that Katydid and Cricket did not inherit Cadelle's venomous fangs. The abilities include: toxic stingers extending from wrists or claws, venomous teeth/fangs, paralysing toxin (known as nerve poison) which immobilises targets, spraying boiling acid from tail stingers and emitted a terrible stench.

Thanks to the Breath of Evil (not sure if this has a page), Queen Wasp was able to mind control HiveWings she'd injected the Breath of Evil into. When being controller by Wasp, HiveWing's eye's would go white and move in unison, taking on an eerie tone to their voice.

Names

HiveWings are named after insects, which include ants, bees, beetles, crickets, mantids, wasps and weevils.
