When the war has lasted twenty years...
the dragonets will come.
When the land is soaked in blood and tears...
the dragonets will come.

Find the SeaWing egg of deepest blue,
Wings of night shall come to you.
The largest egg in mountain high,
will give to you the wings of sky.
For wings of earth, search through the mud
for an egg the color of dragon blood.
And hidden alone from the rival queens,
the SandWing egg awaits unseen.

Of three queens who blister and blaze and burn,
two shall die and one shall learn
if she bows to a fate that is stronger and higher,
she'll have the power of wings of fire.

Five eggs to hatch on brightest night,
five dragons born to end the fight.
Darkness will rise to bring the light.
The dragonets are coming...

The Dragonet Prophecy was a false prophecy which was centered around the Dragonets of Destiny and is the namesake of the first arc. It was created by Morrowseer and Battlewinner of the NightWings four years before the brightest night and the event of the first book as a scheme to take over the Rainforest Kingdom for their tribe.

-This famous verse is featured in all of the first 5 books, before the prologue. The Dragonet Prophecy was a prophecy made by  Morrowseer the nightwing. What happened was a bit different. The 'largest egg in mountain high" brought to them the wings of rain. and hidden away from the rival queens, a hybrid egg awaited unseen. when Morrowseer came to check out the DoD, (Dragonets of Destiny) he was quite disappointed. Sunny, the sandwing, was lacking a tail barb, the skywing wasn't a skywing at all, the nightwing, Starflight, was a wuss, and the seawing, Tsunami, kept biting his tail.
