Cricket is a female HiveWing dragonet who was introduced in The Lost Continent, and is the main protagonist of The Hive Queen. She currently resides in LeafSilk Kingdom with her parents, Katydid and Malachite.
Description
Cricket has cool[1] buttercup yellow[2], orange-gold[3], and sun-colored[4] scales that are speckled here and there with black scales that look like tiny inkblots[5]. She has golden-yellow talons[6], and she keeps her four orange-gold-black[7] wings swooped from her back in beautiful smooth folds[5]. She has warm, dark brown eyes that make Blue think of owls and tree hollows[5].
Cricket is smaller than Blue[8], and has an open, curious face[5]. She has small, sharp claws, like a leopard’s[5], and also has strong arms[8], a long neck[4], and is described as healthy by Lady Scarab[9]. She wears octagonal[10] gold-rimmed spectacles[5] and a bag that she has tied sideways across her chest[11]. She smells like books and apples[12] and cinnamon[13].
History
Cricket was raised by Cadelle, who she thought to be her mother and an unnamed male HiveWing, who she thought to be her father, but in reality was her grandfather. In reality Katydid, whom she thought to be her sister, was her actual mother, and her father was a HiveWing named Malachite. Her egg was hidden from Queen Wasp for most of the duration of her being inside it, making her immune to Wasp's mind control due to her being injected with The Breath of Evil only once.
